The business is led by Dermott Whelan, who qualified as an accountant and investment analyst with US investment bank Morgan Stanley in 1990. Whilst working in their Private Bank in Zurich between 1994 and 1998, he managed fixed income and multi-asset portfolios for private clients.
In 1998, he returned to London and co-founded a central investment team for Morgan Stanley's private wealth division. He managed a European Equity fund and was lead research analyst for the healthcare sector globally.
Dermott wanted to use his 20 years of financial and investment experience to create a family office for a small group of clients and began the WWM practice in 2009.
Full time support is provided by his apprentice, Niamh Whelan, who is a trainee accountant.

Dermott is a Fellow of The Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, a Chartered Financial Planner, European Financial Analyst and Associate of the CFA Society of the UK.
